This role requires a visionary leader with a strong commercial background, expertise in digital platforms, and the ability to work cross-functionally across marketing, product, and local markets to enhance DAZN's basketball offering. The ideal candidate will lead the development of the global basketball product strategy, ensuring DAZN becomes the ultimate home of basketball content for fans worldwide. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of basketball streaming and grow DAZN's presence in a rapidly evolving market. Benefits include access to DAZN, 25 days' annual leave (increasing by 3 days after 3 years), private medical insurance, life assurance, pension contributions up to 5%, family friendly community including enhanced parental leave, electric vehicle benefit option, free access for you and one other to our workplace mental health platform app (Unmind), learning and development resources, opportunity for flexible working, and access to our internal speaker series and events. As our new SVP Basketball you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Create and execute a comprehensive plan for DAZN's global basketball D2C product, with full ownership of the profit and loss performance.
  • Design a compelling basketball product proposition including subscription packages (e.g., season passes, free/paid options), pricing strategies, and the integration of key features such as live streaming, stats, scores, and highlights.
  • Collaborate with the rights team to identify and acquire the optimal mix of basketball properties to attract and retain customers, focusing on driving acquisition and engagement.
  • Work closely with DAZN's product teams to develop a best-in-class user experience for basketball fans, ensuring that DAZN's app delivers a seamless and engaging experience.
  • Partner with the marketing team to create acquisition, retention, and re-engagement campaigns tailored for basketball fans, ensuring the successful execution of global and local strategies.
  • Collaborate with local DAZN markets to fully integrate the global basketball proposition, driving engagement with existing DAZN subscribers and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic direction for basketball initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader DAZN business objectives and market demands.
  • You'll have

  • Extensive experience in leading direct-to-consumer digital platforms with a focus on subscription or PPV models, ideally within sports or media industries.
  • Strong practical commercial experience with P&L ownership, combining both trading mentality and strategic foresight to drive sustainable business growth.
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally, providing leadership, direction, and collaboration with marketing, product, and regional teams to execute on business objectives.
  • Passion and understanding of global basketball leagues, teams, and culture, with a vision for growing the sport's presence on DAZN.
  • Ability to think strategically while also being comfortable rolling up sleeves and leading initiatives from concept to execution.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving ambitious business goals, scaling operations, and enhancing user engagement through innovative product offerings.
  • Proven experience in a senior-level leadership role with a focus on direct-to-consumer platforms, ideally within sports streaming, digital media, or technology sectors.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional management skills, with the ability to work across departments and drive results in a matrixed, global organisation.
  • Knowledge of global sports markets, with a particular understanding of the basketball landscape and the ability to adapt strategies for different local markets.
