Full Job Description

We are currently seeking motivated and suitably skilled individuals to join the Wellbeing Service Swimming teachers team on a casual basis, to support our Strokes for live programme and our schools swimming lessons programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering swimming instruction for various levels of ability. We have 5 positions across the whole of the Wellbeing Service across Birmingham.,

  • To be responsible to the Site Manager for the effective day to day delivery and presentation of the Schools or Strokes Swimming Instruction Scheme.

  • To provide advice and support to the Site Manager on the development of the site Swimming Instruction programme.

  • Liaise with the Swimming Co-ordinator on course content and activity programmes specific to that site.
  • To liaise with and assist teachers in charge of school classes when teaching on the schools instruction programme.

  • To liaise with and maintain an effective relationship with parents when teaching swimming as part of the Strokes Instruction Scheme, including encouraging customer retention.

  • To be responsible for the validation of appropriate badges and certificates relating to the Strokes Instruction Scheme and liaising with the Swimming Co-ordinator on their issue.

  • Liaise with the Swimming Co-ordinator and site Manager in relation to accessing appropriate staff training/personal development and in the maintenance of qualifications.

  • Keep abreast of current development trends in Swimming and Swimming Teaching by attending the appropriate in service training courses / seminars.

  • Such other associated duties as may from time to time arise, develop or be assigned
