Full Job Description

Lancing College Swim School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Swimming Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering swimming lessons to students of various ages and skill levels. As a Swimming Teacher, you will follow the National Swim England curriculum, ensuring that students receive high-quality instruction in a safe and supportive environment. Safeguarding the well-being of our students is of upmost importance, and teachers are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and adherence to child protection policies.,

  • Deliver swimming lessons in accordance with the National Swim England curriculum, ensuring that students progress effectively and develop their swimming skills.

  • Create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of each student.

  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, implementing proper safety measures and adhering to safeguarding policies.

  • Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to students, tracking their progress and addressing areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with the Swim School Manager and Pool Manager to ensure effective communication and coordination of teaching activities.

  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and stay up to date with the latest techniques and swimming industry standards.

  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere within the Swim school.

    Hold a valid swimming teacher qualification recognised by Swim England or STA.

  • Possess a valid lifeguard qualification (preferred, but not essential).

  • Experience in teaching swimming lessons to students of various ages and abilities.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Swim England curriculum and teaching methodologies.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver structured swimming lessons.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a thorough understanding of child protection policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, parents and students.
