Full Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit 3 part time switchboard operators on permanent contracts. one for 23 hours per week, one for 20 hours per week and one working only weekends of 12 hours per week.,

  • As the first point of contact within the telecommunications service at Weston General Hospital, operators are responsible for providing a efficient switchboard/information service 24/7 to all staff and customers at the trust.

  • Carry out all aspects of the responsibilities of a operator in a pleasant, courteous and professional manner at all times.

  • Operators will be required to use their own initiative efficiently and accurately when dealing with emergencies/life and death procedures and situations outside the parameters of these procedures, people and vulnerable adults.     The successful candidates will join a small friendly front line team in a busy hospital switchboard. You will need excellent communication, interpersonal skills and be calm in a emergency situation.
