Full Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a full time shift Switchboard Operator on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will join a friendly front line team operating a busy acute hospital switchboard. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be calm in emergency situations. The full time position for a Shift operator is on a rotational 9-week shift pattern. Including weekends and bank holidays if shift falls on them.,

  • As the first point of contact for the telecommunication service of the UHBW Trust, operators are responsible for providing an efficient switchboard/information service 24/7 to all staff and customers of the Trust.
  • Carry out all aspects of the responsibilities of an operator in a pleasant, courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Operators will be required to use their own initiative efficiently and accurately when dealing with Emergency/Life and Death procedures and situations outside the parameters of these procedures., people and vulnerable adults.
