Full Job Description

The core aspects of this role will be to work directly with families, and to provide systemic supervision, consultation and training for the clinical workforce. Both clinical focus areas are aimed at embedding and maintaining a foundation of systemic thinking to promote stabilisation and transition for families, and to inform the clinical practice and ethos of the ward and team., This role is also core to the clinical culture and ethos of the ward. You will work alongside the wider MDT which includes Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and Nursing. Together with the team, you will be a passionate champion for working systemically towards effecting positive change for young people and their families, and in identifying appropriate systemic clinical processes to meet the needs of the ward.

The post holder will work directly with families and young people who have been admitted to the unit because they require the highest level of care, support and safety. It is expected that families will be experiencing a range of intense emotions regarding the admission of the young person, and that the acute care needs require systemic formulation, understanding and intervention to promote stabilisation, communication and transition back into the community. Excellent communication skills and a passion for working in an acute care service is fundamental to the role., We are committed to supporting newly qualified Family Psychotherapists with a passion for working in an acute care setting. For a newly qualified therapist, previous inpatient experience is highly desirable.
