Full Job Description

Waltham Forest has been successfully recruited to be part of a research pilot looking at the effectiveness of Systemic Practice. Working as part of the Children and Family Early Help Service you will work closely with the Insitute of Family Therapy to work to embed systemic practice. This would include providing ongoing targeted training, monthly group reflective practice sessions, and one-to-one consultation for family practitioners, in addition to supporting the use of systemic tools, such as genograms and outcome measures. To boost retention and sustainability, IFT would deliver either the level 2 or level 3 training of the master's degree within the pilot which could lead to the successful candidate becoming a fully qualified systemic psychotherapist depending on the level of qualification gained.,

  • To contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of specialist training delivered by Institute of Family Therapy (IFT) in systemic practice to support its embedding in Early Help teams and provide additional training and teaching to Early Help teams as needed to embed systemic principles, tools, and practice.
  • To offer and provide spaces for staff reflection on working with children and their families, including providing individual or group reflective practice sessions and supervision on an ongoing basis and support Early Help practitioners in improving their skills in working with young people and their families who experience multiple and complex needs, including developing systemic practice through advice and consultation.

    To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Have completed Year 1 or Year 2 Level in Systemic Family Practice
  • Degree or equivalent or vocational qualification in relevant subject or area
  • Relevant Continual Professional Development
