We have a vacancy available for a Systems and Database Technical Specialist within the ICT department at Yorkshire Ambulance Service, the role will involve working within the Systems, Online and Development Support Teams. As a Systems and Database Technical Specialist within the ICT department at Yorkshire Ambulance Service, the role will involve working within the Systems, Online and Development Support Team where you will provide the systems administration and technical support associated with a wide range of systems within the Trusts ICT Services. You'll find that the work is varied and challenging and will include system administration, enhancements, performance improvements, configuration, fault finding, bug fixing and system design and data warehouse implementation and support within a structured healthcare environment. For this role, in addition to digital systems technical experience, you'll need to have a good understanding of relational database design, data warehouse design and demonstrable, practical experience in SQL, managing complex systems and technical system support including best practices for business continuity and disaster recovery., A System and Database Tech Specialist main duties are to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information; agreement or co-operation required; present complex, sensitive or contentious information to large groups usually involving communicating a range of ICT issues which can be complex and multi-stranded and negotiate priorities on system design and development, reporting processes with non-ICT managers. The role is to provide the Trust with specialist skills and knowledge, in particular, application requirements, managing database applications, servers and backup processes to ensure a robust safe solution for critical systems. To plan and organise broad range of complex activities; formulates, adjusts plans or strategies including investigating complex technical issues and enquiries by providing support and advice as required. The role is also responsible for the planning, development, review, update, upgrade and introduction of major new ICT systems to meet user, business and operational requirements, e.g. redevelopment of aspects of patient care system, business systems, infrastructure, and information systems including the YAS Data Warehouse. To help to ensure the security of systems equipment, software licence compliance and compliance with NHS IT security requirements. To continually monitor service performance, taking timely and effective action to ensure agreed performance levels are maintained or exceeded.,

  • Systems & SQL Database Administration, Design and Support.
  • System & Database continuity planning and testing.
  • Proactively monitor complex systems & database servers and respond to escalated alerts from 2nd line to 3rd line.
  • System Technical Support.
  • Data Warehouse administration and support.
  • Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Own, investigate and see through to resolution incidents assigned to the team.
  • Provide support for the Trusts systems, data warehouse and databases.
  • Involvement in project work, including scoping requirements and creating technical documentation.
  • Systems, Databases and Architecture Supported
  • SQL Version 2012 and higher - SQL Cluster - SQL Mirror and Replication, Availability Groups
  • Windows Server 2016 / Windows 10 and above for desktops and user laptops
  • CAD (999) / PTS / IUC (111) / Estates / Finance / Data Warehouse / ePR
