Full Job Description

As Systems Engineer, you will work on landing gear systems development programmes including Research & Technology projects. You'll ensure that all requirements are properly defined, validated, verified and flowed down to internal and external suppliers. You will define and manage the systems development process to ensure that the Landing Gear Systems design meets its requirements on schedule. Key aspects of this job include the following:

  • Integration of mechanical and/or hydraulic systems
  • Plan the engineering activities alongside the Programme Chief Engineer to ensure successful development certification of the landing gear system
  • Ownership of all project deliverables
  • Liaising with the customer to ensure all requirements are properly defined and that the projects progress as planned
  • Generate all System/Equipment Requirements
  • Definitions, Validation Matrices, Verification Matrices and other deliverables required by the Validation & Verification process.
  • Writing Declarations of Design Performance documentation, Working on new development, modifications, and research and technology for landing gears
  • Involved in landing gear structure and systems
  • Management of all internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and captured.
  • Responsible for leading the full validation and verification process on projects

    A sound knowledge of systems engineering
  • Experience of the V&V process
  • Technical management of different stakeholders
  • Experience of technical management of equipment suppliers, including investigation of test failures
  • Experience of management of the validation and verification process
  • Experience of the broad range of the Systems development process
  • Experience of IBM DOORS software would be beneficial
  • Ability and willingness to communicate and work with all disciplines of engineering
  • A sound knowledge of systems engineering theory together with knowledge of the principles of safety and reliability is required.
  • Familiarity with ARP4754 and ARP4761 would be very beneficial
  • Ability to write technical reports clearly and accurately
