Full Job Description
Reporting to the Automation Systems Lead, you will:
- Provide support to the design, implementation, and management of complex engineering systems and change requests on new and existing systems.
- Work closely with internal business functions across multiple projects, interfacing with automation suppliers, support teams, and operational stakeholders to identify, analyse, improve, and correct automation and operational defects.
- Undertake detailed investigations using tools and techniques such as data analysis, onsite inspection, and collaborate for system and software updates on parcel and letter automation systems.
- Contribute to the development and update of systems requirements for parcel and letter automation, and support system integration testing of a first article, both in a manufacturing facility and at the first article installation.
- Support integration and testing of subsequent articles during and post the deployment phase and contribute to the development of supporting applications for integrating letter and parcel automation systems.
- Provide analysis and technical support of automation performance, diagnosis, and troubleshooting and contribute to defect and design change management processes for deployed parcels automation.
To truly excel in this role, you will possess, and be able to evidence, the skills and experience listed below: - Awareness of developing, deploying, and testing new and existing software packages and updates, and performing data and root case analysis using multiple sources and tools.
- Track record of successfully working with automated processes, equipment, & machinery, and with automation data interface specifications, systems testing, online collaboration tools, and version control systems.
- Good knowledge of developing and interpreting systems requirements and the ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple work streams.
- Knowledge of collaborating to achieve integration of engineering solutions and able to engage and communicate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to deliver on-site support, detailed analysis, and incident management with suppliers to deliver parcel automation solutions.
- Experience working as part of a cross-functional matrix team that includes stakeholders such as automation suppliers, engineering design, central engineering maintenance and group procurement.
