Full Job Description

The Presales team is looking for a System Engineer to provide pre-sales and post-sales support in relation to the successful selling of SAS solutions. Relates technical concepts to SAS applications and user needs. Participates and/or leads in design and implementation of complex solution architectures. Builds and shares technical knowledge of SAS applications and solutions. Prepares and performs product presentations and demonstrations for current and prospective customers. As a System Engineer, you will:

  • Gathers and assesses customer requirements (both functional and non-functional), converting these into a detailed technical proposal in collaboration with the services delivery organizations in support of the sales vision.
  • Delivers technical architecture related information, leads technical discovery sessions, responds to architecture and infrastructure questions when necessary.
  • Delivers standard and/or customized software demonstrations and presentations outlining the technical features, competitive advantages and business benefits of SAS software as applied to client needs.
  • Leverages detailed technical knowledge to support sales opportunities and implementations across solution domains.
  • Assist in the response to RFI/RFPs by crafting thorough and complete answers.
  • Strategizes with sales team to provide functional and technical leadership for sales opportunities.
  • Participates in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a proficient level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings.
  • Supports partner development & enablement, as well as partnered sales opportunities.
  • Understands, utilizes and communicates best practice methodologies and industry standards internally and externally.
  • Provides demonstration and business development support at vendor-sponsored events, trade shows, and user group meetings.
  • Works pro-actively with the extended account team of Industry Consultants, Solution Architects and Technical Architects to strategize on opportunities, cross-training and knowledge transfer.

    At least five years of experience in technical sales, marketing, technical support, information systems, or a related area of expertise including three years of programming
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, or other quantitative field related to area of assignment.
  • Experienced to Advanced knowledge of SAS System tools.
  • Good knowledge of Cloud technologies including Kubernetes
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Should have clear understanding of industry standards, methodologies, various technologies, architecture and resources.
  • Ability to relate technical concepts to SAS applications and user needs.
  • Ability to work and learn independently and as part of a team.
  • Travel as business requirements dictate.
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
