Blackpool Sixth is an outstanding college specialising in 16-19 education, we have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Social Care Teacher to join our team. There are exciting times ahead for the college as we have recently become a member of The Coastal Collaborative Trust. This position is well suited to you if you have a passion for inspiring young people. Whether you are looking for the first steps into teaching or if you are looking to advance an already established career in a thriving and supportive workplace. This position, commencing in January 2025, is 0.5fte and fixed-term for a period of maternity cover currently for the academic year 2024/25, however, this may be extended. Based in our Social Sciences department you will work closely with others in the department to support your students to achieve their ambitions. The Health & Social Care team has developed excellent links with a vast range of universities and local employers to support students' future progression and work experience opportunities. A day in social sciences could see you:

  • inspiring students to develop their knowledge of Health & Social Care
  • planning and delivering quality first teaching to the highest standard
  • working collaboratively with others in the department to develop schemes of work and resources adapted to suit the needs of all students
  • providing academic support for students
  • being involved in developing work experience opportunities for students
  • supporting students with their progression opportunities
