We want YOU as our new Lead Youth Development Worker! Bring creativity, energy, and drive to Positive Futures & help shape futures!

At Positive Futures we believe in empowering young people to achieve their potential, and our team are committed to supporting every young person to do this. Just as our team are committed to supporting young people, Positive Futures, as an employer, are committed to supporting our staff team to achieve their own potential., What's it like to work at Positive Futures? We hear from one of our Targeted Support Workers: "I joined PF with a desire to help support children and young people; PF provided a perfect setting to carry out this support. From doing some background research on PF, I was impressed and encouraged by their ethos to join their company and be part of something great. I have been a part of the PF team for 2 years now and have learned so much regarding what is involved in supporting children and young people. My role includes supporting young people who experience emotional, mental health and wellbeing difficulties, as well as completing intervention with young people who are at risk of criminal exploitation. I develop support plans which explore positive ways children and young people can express their difficulties and learn how to manage in healthier ways, as well as carry out awareness intervention which aims to encourage young people to avoid and distance themselves from negative life experiences such as ASB, gang involvement and criminal behaviour. The difference my job can make is the support we provide may prevent a child or young person declining in their emotional, mental health and wellbeing as well as encouraging them to avoid further criminal involvement. We offer children and young people opportunities to get involved in any extracurricular activities they may not have had access to prior to being involved with PF. My role offers the opportunity of supporting children and young people accessing an education setting that would be most beneficial to their needs. I enjoy working at PF as it affords me the opportunity to get to know new young people often and experience various challenges children and young people are faced with. The benefits of working at PF involves working flexible hours, having access to external supervision if needed, there is a health care plan provided and personal development training available whenever necessary to enable a positive impact on the outcome of support provided to children and young people. All staff are provided with a free uniform and paid expenses, such as any mileage used and finances spent on activities. I would encourage others to work at PF if they would like to pursue a career in working with children and young people as I feel this organisation offers staff the opportunities to learn as much as possible and offers various roles to get involved in."
