Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Tax Accountant to join the Frasers Property UK as an integral member of the Tax & Treasury team, working closely with the wider finance team. As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for tax reporting, preparation of VAT and CIS returns across the group, as well as playing an instrumental role in instilling best practice and driving process improvement for tax. Acting as a true business partner and advisor, you will have a detailed and methodical approach.

It is an exciting time to join the team as we are looking to implement 'best in class' processes and systems.

What you'll be doing as a Tax Accountant:

  • Managing tax notes for UK statutory accounts and responsible for CbCR reporting

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly/quarterly tax bookings and the quarterly instalment payment advice

  • Supporting corporate tax and VAT reconciliation processes

  • Aiding the Tax Manager in managing the outsourced corporation tax compliance process and capital allowances claims

  • Preparing and coordinating all CIS and VAT returns, including registrations

  • Preparing withholding tax returns and managing HMRC notices and payments

  • Managing Luxembourg tax compliance13.

  • Working with the wider tax team to support Pillar 2 implementation and risk management

  • Reviewing current tax processes and documentation to ensure adoption of best practices and suggesting process improvements

    Sound tax background

  • Knowledge of UK tax legislation, tax accounting and VAT issues

  • Alignment to cultural values: Collaborative, Respectful, Progressive and Real

  • Collaborative with a strong sense of accountability to see projects through to completion

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with key stakeholders (internal & external)

  • Sleeves rolled up approach. Into details whilst understanding the big picture

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity: supporting to introduction of best practice systems and process over time from scratch

  • Ability to work within an open plan and performance culture

  • Detail-orientated and organised approach to ensure accuracy and compliance in all tax-related activities

  • Experience of VAT return preparation and familiarity with corporation tax

  • Willingness to learn about real estate
