Management
Manage the Tax Advisory department and meet the keystone objectives. Take lead responsibility within the Tax Operation Team (TOT).
Clients and CRM
To develop own relationships with clients
To develop a high level of technical expertise.
To be able to deliver commercial and added value advice to clients without partner input.
To provide input to the partnership at a strategic level when required.
To lead in the delivery of profitable business through effective management of working practices.
To lead, develop and motivate managers and teams of people, providing support and development through on the job coaching and appraisals.
Meet fee targets.
Identify opportunities for referrals to other specialists.
Act as an ambassador for the firm.
Business development
Play a key role in promoting the firm's reputation and growing fees.
Develop relationships with intermediaries and other relevant external parties using own network of contacts and relationships to develop business
Leadership
Ability to make good decisions in a timely and confident manner.
Take action to support and implement change initiatives effectively.
Direct and lead others to accomplish the firm's goals and objectives.
Uphold the values of the firm, demonstrate a high standard of fairness and ethics in everyday words and actions.
Have the skills to lead efficiently and effectively and be able to manage meetings to productive ends.
Have the skills to communicate effectively to others.
Knowledge
Up to date technical knowledge in all relevant areas of tax.
Develop specialist knowledge to enable the expansion of existing tax services and the development of new services.
Clients
Manage all aspects of the client experience within the tax department
Manage the department's delivery of a quality service to all clients
Develop own relationships with clients
Deliver commercial and added value advice to clients without partner input.
Recognise and understand clients' needs and deliver in a manner that exceeds clients' expectations.
Quality
Develop a high level of technical expertise both personally and within the department.
Develop and manage appropriate risk management processes for the department
Seek opportunities to improve current processes, systems, and methods to promote reliability, consistency, quality and efficiency of output.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Markets
Play a key role in promoting the firm's reputation and growing fees.
Develop relationships with intermediaries and other relevant external parties using own network of contacts and relationships to develop business
Identity potential client market by service, sector and geography.
Identify opportunities for referrals to other specialists.
Act as an ambassador for the firm
People
Lead, develop and motivate managers and teams of people, providing support and development through on the job coaching and appraisals
Mentor and provide feedback to others to encourage and inspire the development of work-related competencies and long-term career growth.
Manage the department's talent plan to ensure the department has the necessary people and skills for effective service provision.
Operations
Manage and coordinate the delivery of agreed department fee targets.
To lead in the delivery of profitable business through effective management of working practices.
Manage the department's resources so work is undertaken by those with the necessary skills and capacity.
Finance
Manage all aspects of department's financial performance focussing on department budgets, the pricing of work, WIP, debtor management and recovery monitoring and improvement.
