Full Job Description

The successful applicant will carry out the responsibilities of a class teacher to plan and deliver quality learning opportunities for all pupils., 1, To carry out the duties of a primary class teacher as set in the current School Teachers' Pay and Conditions document and subject to any amendments due to government legislation. This includes any duties as may reasonably be directed by the Headteacher.

2. Provide an orderly, organised and stimulating environment in which children learn effectively and gain the highest possible achievements.

3. To identify and assess the special education needs of individual students and to plan lessons to include & meet needs of learners.

4. To use Assessment for Learning in and over lessons and implement the school's Marking and Assessment policy.

5. To monitor, record and track the progress of each pupil and respond with appropriate strategies for improvement. Share these, as appropriate, with parents through planned Parent Evenings, reports etc.

6. To demonstrate good classroom practice in relation to behaviour at all times.

7. To contribute to the development of teaching and learning in the school by sharing good practice, being open to ideas from other colleagues and leading a curriculum area.

8. To use computing effectively for planning, teaching and assessing and to promote computing as a learning tool.

9. To be proactive and take personal responsibility for self-review and for continuing professional development.

10. To attend and contribute to staff meetings/INSET days and other relevant meetings or CPD related to this post and/or to the development of teaching and learning, and development of the school.

11. To foster good relationships with parents to form a partnership in the education of their children, involving them wherever possible in the learning process.

12. To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

13. To work within Health and Safety guidelines.

14. To be committed to and actively promote the school's equal opportunities policy.

Applications are invited from teachers with high quality classroom practice and good organisational skills for a part time teaching post. We work as a team and with parents to ensure children thrive and so strong interpersonal skills are important. The post is initially in KS2.
