Full Job Description

Are you passionate about unleashing the boundless potential of young minds through the power of art? Do you thrive on inspiring creativity and nurturing artistic talent? Join our dynamic team as a Teacher of Art!

At Brompton Academy, we believe that art is not just a subject - it's a gateway to self-expression, innovation, and personal growth. As a Teacher of Art, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the artistic journey of our students, fostering a love for creativity that lasts a lifetime. We would be particularly interested in what art specialisms you have - knowledge of ceramics and firing with a kiln would be beneficial but is not a must.

This is a permanent role for 2 days per week. Currently, these are Mondays and Tuesdays, but some flexibility may be available.

The successful applicant will be coming to a multi-academy trust-wide supportive learning environment, characterised by open management, and in the knowledge that they will enjoy the full support and care of the pragmatic (and down-to-earth) leadership team. We have a dynamic, innovative team of professional staff who want to make a difference to the lives, aspirations and opportunities of our young people. We would encourage applicants to visit the UKAT website to view the many employee benefits on offer: https://www.universityofkentacademiestrust.org.uk/careers-with-ukat.

Brompton Academy is an extremely popular oversubscribed academy with a current Ofsted rating of Good and a 400+ adult learner education programme. We have fantastic new buildings, with outstanding facilities and Apple technologies for all, enabling us to enhance and support cutting-edge learning strategies required for continuous improvement. Brompton Academy is proud of its comprehensive website and would encourage applicants to visit for further information: http://www.bromptonacademy.org.uk/.

The University of Kent Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

In addition, the Trust will carry out an online search, once, as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is intended to help us identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online. The selection panel will then explore such items with the candidate during interview. The Trust's HR Team or another member of staff trained in safer recruitment will use Google.com to conduct each search and no adverse judgement will be formed for applicants with limited or no online footprint.
