Full Job Description

Langley Park School for Boys is an exceptional school that ensures excellent academic outcomes for our students. We are a large, inclusive, over-subscribed, 11-18 school with a co-educational Sixth Form. We consistently achieve high academic success, whilst maintaining a commitment to educating the 'whole child' through the promotion of sport and the arts as part of a well-rounded curriculum. We are part of Impact Multi Academy Trust, and we work closely within the Trust with our other three secondary schools and our three primary schools. We are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Dance to join a successful department in a high performing school. This is a permanent role that would commence January 2025 and would be suitable for an experienced or newly qualified teacher. Please Note For a suitable candidate, there is the opportunity for the role of Acting Head of Dance. This would be for a period of two terms from January 2025 to August 2025 to cover long term absence within the department. The role would then revert to Teacher of Dance after this time. What we are looking for: The successful candidate will:

  • Have an ability to teach Dance and Drama (to at least KS3) in a way which keeps students engaged and stimulated
  • Have a proven record as an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Have experience of teaching across Key Stages 3-5
  • Be either an experienced teacher or newly qualified teacher seeking their first appointment
  • Have a strong commitment to extra-curricular activities, such as choreography of the school musical and dance clubs across the various key stages
  • What we have to offer you:
  • State of the art building and facilities
  • Committed and hardworking students
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • A friendly and supportive working environment
  • Opportunities for collaboration with other schools within our Trust
  • Free access to a confidential 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provided through Health Assured
  • We are committed to equality of opportunity for all our staff. We particularly welcome applicants from ethnic minority backgrounds as they are currently under-represented on our staff body. We recognise the vital contribution that members of a diverse team make to our students'/pupils' learning. The range of cultural experiences, differing viewpoints and role models this brings is essential in our Trust and we recognise the gap that would be left in our team offering without these.
