Full Job Description

Role: Teacher of English Hours: 0.6 FTE Are you a passionate subject specialist with a genuine love for English? Do you have a desire to inspire and challenge the brightest young minds? We are looking for an exceptional Teacher of English to join our team on a part-time basis, with flexibility for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across allocated classes.
  • Set and assess challenging, ambitious work, in line with the School and Department assessment policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, keeping records and writing reports as required.
  • Collaborate as part of the English Department.
  • Participate actively in professional development, maintaining a sense of curiosity and ambition.
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are fully adhered to, protecting the welfare of all pupils.
  • Contribute to the school's pastoral care, supporting the community to be the best version of itself.
  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Strong passion for English, with an energetic and accessible teaching style.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to inspire confidence and curiosity in pupils.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that challenge and support pupils of diverse abilities and needs.
  • Skilled at adapting teaching styles to suit individual situations, fostering an environment where pupils feel confident to ask questions and share ideas.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and data analysis skills, with the ability to report clearly on outcomes.
  • Competence in using ICT to support teaching and learning, as well as data management.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure and prioritize effectively.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider school community and life beyond the classroom.
