Reed's School is a fantastic place to work. Teachers and pupils alike flourish in its friendly, supportive, forward-thinking community. It is one of the leading Independent Day and Boarding Schools in the country and is proud to be providing an education for around 800 pupils, including a significant number who are funded by our charitable foundation. The school is all-boys from 11-16 and has a co-educational Sixth Form.

We are excited to be recruiting for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join our thriving and highly successful English Department. The candidate appointed will have impressive subject knowledge and a desire to be part of a team of committed professionals within the English Department and the whole school. The ability to teach Drama would be advantageous.

For Safer Recruitment purposes all applicants must complete a Reed's School application form. Full details including a job description and application form can be found on our website or alternatively by emailing hr@reeds.surrey.sch.uk

The closing date for applications will be Midday, Monday 18 November 2024.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a completed application as soon as possible. The School reserves the right to interview and appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate present themselves

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of their application.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
