Full Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Geography to join our thriving Geography Department at St Edward's Oxford.
You will deliver well-planned, engaging and challenging lessons to our students, teaching at GCSE, A Level and the International Baccalaureate Diploma in the Sixth Form. You will also be an academic tutor to a small group of pupils and will be expected to play a full part in the wider life of the school community.
You will be a well-qualified teacher with outstanding classroom practice, who is capable of teaching at both GCSE and A Level. You will also need strong communication, organisational and IT skills. Previous experience of working in a coeducational or boarding environment is desirable, but not essential.
The period of cover will be for the 2025 Spring and Summer terms.
St Edward's has its own salary scale and benefits; accommodation in North Oxford may be available.
Geography at St Edward's
Geography is flourishing at the School, and is a popular option at IGCSE, A Level and as part of the IB Diploma. The Department boasts a thriving Geography Society, with close links with the Geographical Association, hosting numerous lectures, seminars and revision courses throughout the academic year. Recent speakers have included Danny Dorling, Patricia Daley and Tim Marshall. We also run domestic trips in the UK, as well as internationally. Our most recent international field trip was to Iceland.
