Full Job Description

If you are a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Health and Social Care seeking a new adventure for January 2025, we'd like to hear from you! The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, committed to academic excellence and have the ability to motivate, support and enthuse students.

You will join an established, successful department with a friendly, dedicated team who achieve excellent results. Health and Social Care is a popular option at both KS4 and KS5. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). As an ECT you'll receive fantastic mentoring at the academy, and also be part of a trust-wide ECT programme to give you the best start in your teaching career. You will have access to a range of professional development opportunities within the academy and also across the wider Trust, tailored to your career aspirations and areas for development.

This is a full-time, permanent position starting in January 2025 and the salary offered is MPS/UPS based on experience + London Fringe Allowance.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2024, our Trust comprises 33 geographically organised academies (17 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 24,000 students and employing 4,000 talented staff. Nearly 40% of our academies are judged outstanding overall by Ofsted, versus 15% nationally. The Trust is establishing three 'clusters' of academies: LAT Central; LAT North; LAT West. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region's biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider. Our future plans are found in our Vision 2030 document available on our website.

As part of Leigh Academies Trust, you will have ample opportunity to collaborate with your peers both within the academy and across the whole Trust. This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together. You are supported to undertake regular self-development to continue your professional development and hopefully progress further within the organisation.
