Full Job Description

Our teachers really set us apart: their passion drives our improvement agenda and in return, we are committed to their well-being and mental health with our innovative Work 9 - Paid 10 scheme.

Discover what we can offer you, that other schools don't!

Would you like to work nine days but be paid for ten?

From September 2024, we have implemented a 9-day working fortnight for all permanent staff. The premise is simple, you will work nine days but be paid for ten, using the tenth day to 'reset', and thus giving you the opportunity to manage your work-life balance more effectively. You will also enjoy an additional Wellness Day.

Feedback from our current staff is unsurprisingly positive! The thought of coming back after a break was less overwhelming and following their first half term of reset, staff say they feel more relaxed, recharged and ready for whatever the next nine working days bring! Plus they save on travelling time and expense and have a little more flexibility.

Could this make the difference you need?

Add to this a significant investment in your professional development and the possibility of onsite accommodation if you need to relocate, plus facilities that are second to none, including an excellent canteen, gym and coffee shop.

We seek to appoint a Teacher of Religious Studies or History, who has experience of teaching GCSE Religious Studies (ideally, AQA) and GCSE History (ideally AQA) to join our Humanities department. Either one as a main subject will be considered. This position is initially a maternity cover to the end of the academic year and would be suitable for ECTs. There is also the potential to receive a TLR as Second in Department for a more experienced candidate.

The department has seen a lot of growth in the past four years and is now offering History, Geography and Religious Studies at GCSE and A-Level, with Law and Politics additionally offered in KS5. The team has a strong moral and work ethic which allows us to push our pupils outside of their comfort zones to achieve this full potential in a safe and adapted environment to support their individual needs. We strongly believe all pupils should not only learn about elements of the Humanities curriculum, but also experience it.

If you're ready to join our team, please complete our online application form via the apply button.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Closing date: 3 December 2024.

Please note, we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis and may close the advert early should we receive an exceptional candidate, so we recommend applying early.
