Full Job Description

The Fulham Boys School is seeking an excellent teacher to join our thriving History and Politics department. The successful applicant will play an integral role in contributing to the success of boys' outcomes as well as our exciting extra-curricular programme which brings history to life, inspires a lifelong love of politics and helps prepare boys for university and beyond. The success of History and Politics is underpinned by the passion of our teachers. Lessons are dynamic and exciting with a 'no opt out' approach to challenge and engagement. Learning is further brought to life by trips both within the UK and abroad including Belgium, Berlin and the USA. Our curriculum is rigorous and aims to deliver core knowledge and skills with a focus on second order concepts and investigating current affairs. Both History and Politics are popular subjects at FBS and hugely successful. In History GCSE 67% of boys achieved a 7+ with the department falling in the top 1% nationally for progress, while at A Level 35% of students achieved an A or above. In Politics 78% of students achieved an A or above which put the department in ALPS Band 1 and therefore in the top 1% of Politics departments in the country. The school was proud to see a record number of students accepted at prestigious universities to study History and Politics such as Oxford, Warwick, Reading, Exeter and Leeds. About The Fulham Boys School The Fulham Boys School, located in the heart of Fulham, is a highly successful and oversubscribed school with a good reputation in the local community.
