Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care.

In 2023, 72% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Progress was also strong. At A level in 2023, 41% of grades were at A

  • -B. Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.


  • Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at A level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.

    Our Governors want to appoint well-qualified, motivated and innovative teachers who are committed to raising achievement and have the capacity to make an impact on the progress of our students and the culture of school life.

    The Maths department is highly successful and has a track record of delivering excellent outcomes for our pupils. You would be joining a well-established, friendly and collaborative Maths team and we are currently seeking either ECT's or more experienced Teachers.

    The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check.

    This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that the post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment / selection and probationary stages.
