The Vacancy.

Due to expansion Salford City Academy has an exciting opportunity to appoint a teacher of Mathematics. This is an excellent opportunity for an excellent candidate who is passionate about Maths and wants to make a difference to the young people in our academy. The role is being advertised for January to cover the maternity leave of a member of the department, however, will remain as a permanent role within the team for September 2025.

The Maths department at Salford City Academy has secured above average GCSE results consistently for the past four years. We aim to secure retention of knowledge and a depth of learning which results in students who are confident in taking their studies to the next level, whether that be further qualifications, higher education or into the workplace. The department has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with our latest set of GCSE Maths results achieving 73% of students a grade 4. As a team, we are committed to continuing to strive for better in our provision for students. The focus of the curriculum is to develop procedural knowledge of the fundamental elements of mathematics in order for students to access further problem-solving elements and reason mathematically. We enjoy working collaboratively and engage in regular CPD to continue to develop our practice.

Academic results at the academy have improved significantly from 2019. We were delighted to celebrate our best set of GCSE results with 71% of students achieving a grade 4 in both Maths and English. This puts the school in the top two schools in Salford and the top of all schools in the Northern United Learning schools.
