Full Job Description

St Catherine's is a school very proud of its friendly atmosphere, excellent pastoral care and strong academic reputation. Our School Mission captures the spirit of our happy, confident and inclusive community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate who will contribute to the teaching and learning of Maths to A level standard. The post is suitable for an experienced teacher or ECT, and we welcome applications from teachers who are interested in a second-in-charge responsibility. To be successful, you will be an inspirational teacher who enjoys helping pupils of all abilities to thrive. You will be expected to play a full and positive part in the life of the School.

The Maths Department enjoys a well-deserved reputation for excellence and outcomes and is a very popular subject at A level. The Department's priority is to ensure that all pupils enjoy learning Maths and aim high; to do this, we provide stimulating teaching in an attractive and disciplined learning environment. From Years 7 to 11, Maths classes are set by ability. The Department follows the Edexcel iGCSE and A level syllabus.

Candidates who are interested in a 2ic role within the Department should make this clear in their letter of application and outline their relevant experience.

The role is offered on a temporary basis with the possibility to extend or become permanent, and part-time hours are available.

If you feel you have the experience, enthusiasm and commitment we are looking for, then we would be delighted to receive an application from you.

Please download the supporting information and return your application form to: recruitment@stcatherineschool.co.uk

Closing date: Monday 7 October 2024.

Interviews will be held later that week.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so early application is recommended, and the School reserves the right to appoint prior to the closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Appointment will be subject to a number of safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check as part of Keeping Children Safe in Education, and once in post, receive further training and updates.
