Full Job Description

Are you an Early Career Teacher looking for your first teaching post or an experienced teacher looking for a new role?

We are looking for an inspirational Teacher of Maths to join a successful and supportive team. The Maths department is an inventive and progressive team who are all passionate about seeing young people succeed in their subject. Key stage 4 results have improved significantly over the past five years, with results consistently above the national average for progress and attainment. This is due to the hard work and determination of staff and students alike in this area.

As a team who are always at the forefront of innovation in the classroom, we are looking for an individual who can add to this already thriving team; a teacher who builds excellent relationships with students and inspires them in their learning. We offer an exceptional development programme with support which goes beyond the ECT years, and we welcome applications from candidates with all levels of experience.

This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), permanent post.

About us

Esher High School is an excellent, high-performing School and is proud to be part of Enlighten Learning Trust (ELT). We aim to equip our students with the skills to grow into confident, ambitious and responsible citizens ready to face the challenges of the adult world. Our staff are passionate about seeing young people succeed in their subject.

Why work for us?

We work hard to make all staff feel like they belong and can flourish. We create a bespoke induction plan for all new staff, shaped with their input and based on their experience, strengths and aims. All teachers get an additional hour every fortnight of protected PPA, totalling 6 hours for a full-time teacher. We have a culture of 1% improvements, which means no hour-long lesson observations and time wasted producing unnecessary paperwork. All staff love our two-week October half-term and have access to free gym use (with shower facilities), ample on-site parking, an up-to-date 2-in-1 laptop (tablet with pen and laptop all in one), a full Microsoft Office package and a vibrant and social staff body.

If you share our vision based on the unshakeable belief that children learn through all aspects of their daily lives and that their values and knowledge, experiences and habits are as important as their academic qualifications, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Closing date: 8.00 am on Monday 14 October 2024

Interview date: w/c 14 October 2024

We welcome early applications and will consider holding interviews and appointing before the closing date for strong candidates.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. It is an offence to apply for a role if applicants are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
