Full Job Description
TEACHER OF MFL (Spanish and French)
FULL TIME
Required as soon as possible
Our vision is simple; we create futures and that includes ensuring our staff have them too! At Heart of England, we are clear in our approach to professional wellbeing, which is crucial at a time of ever-shifting challenge and educational requirement.
For our staff we believe in agency and the right level of autonomy for the stage you're at. We believe that the same intellectual curiosity that led you to want to study your subject at university and then teach it to others is what makes you best placed to make decisions about the way you teach your subject now. We believe that when it comes to learning and teaching our motto, "No One Way ... By Design" does not signify limitless variety. Our focus is on evidence-based teaching and the selection of the best method at the right time. We all bring variety to our roles, however, excellent outcomes are forged through consistent application of what has been proven to work.
The MFL department follow a wide and varied curriculum which challenges students to progress in their abilities and confidence and foster a positive relationship with modern foreign languages. We have a vision of equality, providing all students with equal opportunity to learn a language regardless of ability. We have a strong uptake at GCSE with many students opting for the Ebaccalaureate route and continuing their study of a language. Beyond GCSE we continue to offer A Levels in French, Spanish and German.
Heart of England School is committed to keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe. The post holder is responsible for promoting and supporting a culture of vigilance with regard to safeguarding the welfare of the children, young people and vulnerable adults for whom she is responsible or come into contact with.
