Teacher of PE (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified teacher of PE to join our experienced team to cover the maternity leave of one of our existing teachers. The position will suit an experienced or early career teacher. Whilst ideally we would like full-time, a part-time position will be considered for the right candidate. This is a fixed term maternity cover post with a start date of 1st January 2025 (end date to be confirmed). Please note that we reserve the right to close this advert early should we receive an overwhelming response. Should you be successful during the shortlisting process interviews will be held face to face at the school. The role will involve: Carrying out the functions of a teacher in accordance with the Teacher Standards and the stated aims and objectives of The Stanway School and the Department.

• Qualified Teacher Status (or progress towards targets in your ECT programme).
• Ability to teach "outstanding" lessons in PE, including Netball, Dance and Trampolining.
• Knowledge of the OCR GCSE PE and Btec or GCSE Dance courses would be beneficial.
• Experience of supporting staff and students in maintaining high standards.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
