Full Job Description

Temporary one year maternity cover, part-time 0.2 FTE

We are looking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic person to join our highly successful and inclusive Sixth Form College. The successful candidate will be a committed, inspirational and dynamic individual with a passion for teaching.

Drama is part of our Faculty for Performing Arts and Visual Arts. The college offers a wide range of courses in this area including: UAL Extended Diplomas in Musical Theatre, Acting and Music Performance and A- Level Drama. The faculty has dedicated teaching and specialist spaces including a Drama studio, Dance studio and Music studio and students regularly organise and participate in a variety of performing arts events both within the college and externally. The faculty supports a growing range of extra-curricular activity to enrich the taught curriculum including Lamda qualifications.

Itchen College is a thriving Sixth Form College with a broad curriculum offer to meet the needs of the local community. The college is situated in pleasant surroundings to the east of Southampton with excellent local transport links. Ofsted inspected the college in December 2021, grading overall provision as Good with Outstanding Quality of Education, Outstanding Education Programmes for Young People and Outstanding Provision for Learners with High Needs.

The college has an excellent in house CPD programme for all teaching and support staff including a dedicated programme for Early Career Teachers.
