Full Job Description

Required from January 2025

Bedford Modern School is an HMC Independent Co-educational Day School located on the outskirts of Bedford. Our facilities are excellent and include a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building, purpose-built Science Centre opened in 2017 and extensive sports facilities.

The School offers a premium education, with a wide and varied curriculum, that is responsive to the needs of students and parents, where the intellectual needs of each student is given priority.

We are looking to appoint a committed and suitably qualified graduate to teach Psychology to A level students at BMS. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, comfortable using the latest technology, possess a passion for the subject and an appreciation of the value that comes from being actively involved in departmental trips, events and enrichment activities.

You will have a genuine interest in delivering positive outcomes for young people and be willing to contribute to the extensive co-curricular life of both the PPE Faculty and the wider school.

We warmly welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECTs, offering a supportive, caring programme to those starting out on their teaching journey.

In return, we can offer an excellent working environment, 35 term-time weeks, a salary range which is competitive and above the national teachers' pay scales, fee remission for children of teaching staff, the option to be part of a private healthcare scheme and membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme.

Closing date: 8am Monday 28 October 2024

Interview: Thursday 31 October 2024

Please note, we reserve the right to close the vacancy early should we receive a sufficient number of suitable applicants.

Further details and how to apply can be found on our website: https://www.bedmod.co.uk/job-opportunities/.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview.
