Archbishop Beck Catholic College is an Archdiocesan school and we pride ourselves on our strong Catholic ethos. We are based in North Liverpool and have 1200 students on roll across year groups 7 - 13. The College is heavily over-subscribed and very well respected by the local community.

In our recent Ofsted inspection in November 2021, we were judged 'Good' in all aspects.

Governors are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of RE (part-time - 3 days) to join our Religious Education team. The successful candidate should be able to teach both key stages up to GCSE. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with a love of their subject to join The Religious Education Department at Archbishop Beck.

We are a thriving department with a strong vision to improve student attainment in all key stages. We are an innovative and creative department with a suite of computers to complement the interactive teaching favoured within the department.

This role offers the opportunity to join a team of specialist practitioners who seek the highest standards for their students and who want to share their love of religious education. The successful candidate will share this vision. Following our most recent positive Ofsted inspection, the position will allow the successful candidate to join of team of practitioners who have experience of success and have a deep understanding of how to develop and nurture an appreciation of religion and who understand the best methods to help students to progress. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø In accordance with the requirements of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions document, having due regard to the school's Mission Statement, aims, objectives and schemes of work, and any policies of the Governing Body.

Ø Maintenance of discipline and an atmosphere which is conducive to learning during lessons.

Ø Preparation and presentation of lessons of suitable content, level and interest to engage students throughout the age range.

Ø Setting of homework tasks in line with the homework timetable.

Ø Marking of students' work and implementing Assessment for Learning strategies in line with the school policy.

Ø Keeping records of the standard achieved by students in their work.

Ø Grading of students and writing of reports on students.

Ø Keeping up to date on developments in the subject.

Ø Attendance at relevant courses to develop skills and knowledge appropriate to the teaching of the subject.

Ø Attendance at meetings required by the Head of Department and Senior Leadership Team.

Ø Acting as Form Tutor and taking responsibility for the pastoral care of the students in the form.

Responsible to: Headship Team, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Department
