Full Job Description

Teacher of Science | Lead Practitioner Scale for the right candidate

This is a very exciting opportunity to join our highly popular and thriving school as a Teacher of Science. There is also an opportunity to join us on the Lead Practitioner school for the right candidate. All science specialists are welcome and encouraged to apply although the ability to teach A level biology would be an advantage, but not a necessity.

Science is a popular subject at The Hinckley School and is taught from Y7 through to Y13. The successful candidate will help the department in securing outstanding pupil outcomes in Science, ensuring students continue to enjoy their learning.

There has never been a more exciting time to join our Science department. With work on a multi-million-pound new STEAM building to start imminently, the successful candidate for this role will not only benefit from new state of the art facilities to deliver outstanding teaching and learning, but also join our community at the perfect time to help shape our future 11-18 provision.

It really is an exciting time to join The Hinckley School. In September 2023 we were rated 'Good' in all areas by Ofsted. You may be an ambitious, high flyer who is relatively new to the profession or someone who has been teaching for a few years but is ready for a new challenge. The role offers an opportunity to work with dedicated colleagues and professionals both in school and across The Futures Trust who commit generously of their time to train and develop colleagues. We pride ourselves on a culture of collaboration, support and success, and offer focused CPDL for all staff based on their future aspirations.
