TEACHER OF SCIENCE (Full time or part-time)

Required for January 2025 - Main Pay Scale + Responsibility payment to be considered

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational, enthusiastic and talented teacher to join the Science Department from January 2025.

The successful candidate will share our vision and values of achieving excellence and our commitment to continuously improving the standards of teaching and learning in a dedicated and forward looking team of 9 teachers and 4 technicians. The Science department delivers Key Stage 3 Science over two years and Key Stage 4 over three years.

We are looking for someone who:

· Has a strong ethos of high achievement and success within the Learning Area.

· Has the ability to create, plan and deliver a Science curriculum that will develop pupil's skills, knowledge, understanding and their love for learning in the 21st century.

· Is skilled at fostering independent and collaborative student-led learning.

The science team are an enthusiastic and committed team who pride themselves on not only delivering a dynamic curriculum, but also offering a range of extra-curricular Science & STEM opportunities to help foster a love of science and desire to learn. We run an annual science fair in KS3 which is extremely well received and feeds into the conclusion of the KS3 curriculum. We have great facilities across nine new spacious laboratories and our experienced technicians provide an outstanding support service to the team

Priory School was inspected by Ofsted in November 2022 and received the following outcome:

· The quality of education Good

· Behaviour and attitudes Good

· Personal development Outstanding

· Leadership and management Outstanding

The inspection report noted that "The school is extremely well led and managed. Teachers are well supported by leaders, and they benefit from well-planned training that meets the needs of their pupils. The school and the trust work closely together and this strengthens what the school offers their pupils."
