Kingsmead School is located in the beautiful Somerset countryside, and we are seeking a 0.7 part-time Teacher of Science to join our school community. The successful candidate will be a positive, energised and creative individual that will lead by example and help to challenge our students to achieve the best possible outcomes. They will also:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a track record of excellent outcomes
  • Have up-to-date curriculum knowledge and be outward facing
  • Be a passionate and innovative advocate for Science
  • Be totally committed to improving the life chances of young people
  • Be team oriented and enjoy working collaboratively

  • The Science department has its own separate building with a large workroom. There are specialist labs with two prep rooms and technicians to support delivery of lessons. Triple science outcomes have traditionally been very strong at Kingsmead and we currently have the highest uptake we have ever had. Combined science is received positively by students and recent work to develop the curriculum structure within science is having a positive impact on students.
