Full time, permanentwith effect from January 2025Salary: Outer London Main/Upper Pay Rangewith additional SEN payment We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic teacher with a strong foundation in SEND who is ready to take on a pivotal role in our Specialist Resource Provision for students with ASD needs. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with communication difficulties and SEMH related difficulties, while also being adept at adapting their teaching to meet cognition and learning challenges, which are the main presenting needs within our school. They will have a proven track record of delivering strong academic outcomes, particularly at KS4, and be skilled in adapting learning to cater to a range of learning needs. This person should be enthusiastic, patient, and forward-thinking, committed to helping students achieve their best both academically and personally. Training will be offered where the right candidate does not have extensive experience of ASD. This role will provide the opportunity to work closely with an experienced Lead Teacher in an inclusive, supportive environment that values innovation and student success. This candidate will be the type of teacher who sees the potential in every student and has the skillset to ensure they thrive, both academically and emotionally. Excellent transport links enable our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides, including world class theatres and galleries. We are an ambitious school that puts student achievement and wellbeing at its heart. In April 2020 we were judged by Ofsted to be 'good': 'School leaders are keen to ensure all pupils achieve their best. Pupils respond well to leaders' high expectations. There is a distinct sense of community in the school. Pupils grow in confidence and learn to work together well as a result.' The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:

  • QTS;
  • understanding of SEND legislation
  • Good working knowledge of ASD
  • a broad base of subject knowledge;
  • the ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5;

  • a clear understanding of successful classroom practice
  • the ability to work effectively as part of a curriculum team;
  • the ability to maintain good classroom behaviour;
  • effective interpersonal skills;

Please talk to us about the flexibility you may need. For further details about The Hollyfield School please visit our website.
