What we are looking for

Teaching assistants

We are looking for teaching assistants who are capable of providing general support for pupils. This will include in-class assistance, small intervention groups, one to one work, or other work at the discretion of the class teacher/leadership team. The posts are likely to be based in KS2 in the first instance, but staff are expected to work across the whole school. They include play leader supervision at lunchtime.

You will need to be proficient in maths and English, with good communication skills. Experience of working with young children is highly desirable. 

 The roles are:

  • Role 1 - Mon - Fri 08.45 - 11.30 and 12 - 3 - 27.5 hours
  • Role 2 - Mon - Fri 08.45 - 13.15 - 21.25 hours

The pay is £11.98 per hour depending on experience.

Pro rota full time salary is approx £22,737 plus pension.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work under direct supervision/instruction to support access to learning by:
  •  Attending to the welfare and personal care of pupils including those with special educational needs
  •  Working one to one and occasionally with small groups, including teaching Read Write Inc phonics.
  • Undertaking general clerical/organisational support for the teacher
  • Being adaptable and flexible to meet the specific needs of an individual pupil
