Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant who can participate fully in maintaining and enhancing our
excellent reputation within the local community.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and highly effective teaching assistant, to provide additional support
to pupils with additional educational needs in Key Stage 2.

Your role would be to provide the class teacher with support for individual pupils, small groups or, on
occasions, possibly the whole class. Part of your role would also be to support the teacher with routine
administrative tasks.

The successful applicant will be able to maintain confidentiality at all times, and respond to the hectic and
challenging demands of the school day in a calm way, retaining a sense of humour and perspective. Good
communication skills, patience and a pleasant, reassuring and positive manner with children are essential., This post offers unique opportunities to work with colleagues of exceptional quality in a modern primary school

The Meadows Primary School
The Meadows Primary School is one of five town schools in Oswestry and currently has 270 children aged
between 5 and 11 years on roll. At 11 years of age, the majority of children transfer to The Marches School.
However, some also transfer to other local secondary schools such as Lakelands and St. Martins.

The school has ten class-bases, a library, a kiln room, an ICT suite, Early Years Outdoor play area with canopy,
and a multi-sports Area. The overall facilities of the school are excellent. We value close links with parents and
endeavour to engender an understanding of good behaviour as a requisite to good learning. We are a friendly
school and staff work very closely together. We seek to promote close links with the local community. The
school is committed to the protection and safety of its pupils. Enhanced DBS and identity checks will be
required.

  • 5.5 hours per day (term-time only) 08.45 a.m. - 3.15 p.m. each day
