Full Job Description

The Southfield Trust is seeking dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistants to join our vibrant team in a rewarding educational environment. We offer the opportunity to work in an urban setting, supporting a diverse group of SEN students to achieve their full potential., As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our teachers and engaging with our pupils.,

  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of lessons

  • Providing support to individual students or small groups to help them understand the material and complete tasks

  • Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

  • Monitoring and recording student progress

  • Assisting with the management of classroom resources and setup

    A genuine passion for education and the well-being of children

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff

  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent) are desirable but not essential

  • The South Downs and The Lindfield schools joined the Trust at its establishment in April of 2016 having worked closely together for a number of years. Hazel Court School was warmly welcomed into the Trust in September of 2018.

    The Trust opened a new Free School: Summerdown School, in Eastbourne, in September 2022. The Trust now works across four schools and six sites in Eastbourne.

  • The paid hours of work are 30 per week (6 hours each day) - Monday to Friday

  • This is a term time only post which is paid for 45.05 weeks per year.

  • As this post is part time / term time only the salary will be pro rata of the fulltime figure (£22,737) and is £15,927 per year.
