Full Job Description

ACS International Schools Cobham is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our Lower School teaching team to support a student 1:1, for an immediate start.

Overall Job Purpose:

Assist the pupil with SEND requirements to help them succeed in their learning environment
Support with academic, behavioural and social development while adhering to the IEP as established by the school.

Main Responsibilities:

Student Support:

  • Provide direct assistance with completing academic tasks, including classroom activities, assignments, and tests

  • Implement strategies and interventions outlined in the student's IEP to support their goals.

  • Assist the student in developing social skills and appropriate behaviour in a school setting

  • Provide personal care assistance if required, including mobility support, toileting, and feeding as outlined in the student's IEP

  • Maintain regular communication with the student's parents, teachers, and SEN staff to provide updates on the student's progress and address any issues or concerns.


  • Classroom Assistance:
  • Ensure the student's safety and well-being throughout the school day

  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to create a supportive learning environment tailored to students' needs

  • Monitor and document the student's progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the appropriate school staff.

    Relevant experience with children

  • Basic computer skills.
