Full Job Description

As Teaching Assistant (ftc) at High Peak School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher to support teaching and learning in the classroom and provide general support in the management and organisation of the pupils. You will use behaviour management strategies effectively and in line with the school's policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment and promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop. All staff are responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

Ideally, for this role, we are looking for applicants who have experience of working with children within an SEN setting and have a passion for supporting young people to learn and develop but more importantly, people who wants to make a difference to the lives and education of our children and young people. High Peak School, part of Kedleston Group Limited, is a specialist primary and secondary school providing provision for young people aged 7 to 18 years with Autism and associated social, emotional, behavioural and communication needs.
