Full Job Description

TEACHING ASSISTANT

Required to start as soon as possible.

Permanent, 35 hours per week, Term Time Only Plus Inset Days

Grade 4 (SCP 4 - SCP7); equating to £19,071 - £20,044 per annum)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, pupil-centered Teaching Assistant, to work supporting students with special educational needs.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential: we are looking for candidates who wish to work with young people and make a difference. This would also be an excellent opportunity for a graduate thinking of entering the teaching profession.

The successful candidate should hold Level 2 Literacy / Numeracy / ICT or equivalent.

Our SEND Department at Birches Head Academy is going from strength to strength, working within a person centered and solution-focused framework. We are excited as we move forward to support our young people in removing barriers to learning and celebrating all success as children in our community "Aspire to Be More" and fulfil their true potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to champion our Academy's development, by joining us on our journey and helping to ensure our students receive a world- class education.

We are a part of the Frank Field Education Trust and work collaboratively with others in our FFET family, allowing our students and staff many opportunities to develop themselves. This is embodied in the FFET vision: 'Social Justice through Excellence in Education' and in the Academy's vision to provide world class education to all our students.

We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to have a staff body that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.

Closing date for applications: Monday 4 November at 8am
