SEN Teaching Assistant

Advert

Nore Academy is a brand-new SEN school soon to open on the Isle of Sheppey.

We will be opening our doors early in 2025. We will cater for young people aged 11-16 with a primary need of SEMH and other related areas of SEN such as ASD. The first phase of opening will see pupils in KS3 join across years 7, 8 and 9 many of whom may have been out of school for some time and desperately need support from ambitious, driven teaching and support staff who care deeply about pupils' emotional as well as academic development.

This is a really exciting opportunity to start at a brand-new school and be part of the journey from day 1 in the establishment and development of a much-needed educational provision on the island.

As the school grows and develops there will be opportunity for roles to develop accordingly in order for us to meet the evolving needs of the school.

At Nore Academy we believe that relationship building, empathy and having uncompromisingly high expectations of our young people is crucial to positively engaging children who have emotionally based barriers to accessing learning opportunities.

Do you have the patience, emotional intelligence, empathy and child centred values to join our new team at this exciting time?

The ideal candidate will:

· Have relentless positivity and can-do attitude.

· Be able to inspire and support learning both in a classroom setting but also through a range of enrichment opportunities.

· Be able to play a positive part in a high performing team.

· Great communication skills

· Have high levels of patience, empathy and emotional intelligence.

· Have an awareness of SEMH needs and value the power of education to support these.

· Have high expectations of all young people.

· Be wholly child centred in their thinking and actions.

· Be committed to child protection and take a personal and collective responsibility for all aspects of safeguarding.

· Have a creative and flexible approach to working with young people.

· Have a desire to support the well-being, resilience, and self-belief of our students.

· Want to grow and develop in this new role.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a National NJC pay grade Sc4 - Sc5 scale point 7-15, depending on area of responsibility.
