Full Job Description
We are looking for a level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team. They will be providing 1-1 support for a pupil with SEN needs, working with individuals and small groups of children and providing nurture support. Level 2 staff provide more specific support and work under the direction of the SLT/SENCO. The basic entry requirement is NVQ2 or equivalent. Key Features: To undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning and to assist teachers in the management of pupils and the classroom. To support teaching staff in the development and education of pupils including the provision of specialist skills as appropriate. The reason for this contract of employment being temporary is to support a child with needs. If the child leaves the school or funding is withdrawn by the local authority that issued it, then a review of the contract will be undertaken and may be ended as the support is no longer required.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children; therefore, the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All applicants must be able to provide documentation to prove their right to work in the UK and references within a 3 year period. Effective from September 2022, KCSIE states as part of the shortlisting process schools and colleges should consider carrying out on-line searches, as part of the due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is to determine suitability to work with children and keep them safe. All shortlisted candidates are now subject to an on-line check and if there is anything concerning, then the shortlisted candidate will be asked to comment on it either prior to or at interview.
