Full Job Description

Cherry Grove Primary School in Chester is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grade 5 Teaching Assistant to support pupils and class teachers across the school. The successful candidate will be confident in providing whole-class support as well as working 1:1 with pupils when needed. They will have experience leading daily interventions, particularly RWI Phonics, and demonstrate a strong understanding of working with SEN pupils. A calm and consistent approach to managing challenging behaviours is essential for this role.

The school is a medium-sized primary school with approximately 300 pupils and takes in pupils from Nursery Aged 3 up to Year 6. Contracted hours
The role will be 32.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8.30am to 3.30pm.
Main Responsibilities
· Supporting the teaching and learning of pupils alongside class teachers.
· Helping to create and maintain a positive, productive, inclusive, and safe environment for all pupils and staff.
· Delivering targeted interventions to small groups of pupils to support their learning and development.
· Working closely with SEN pupils, fostering an inclusive learning environment tailored to their needs.
· Supervising pupils during break and lunch times to ensure their safety and well-being.
· Monitoring and supporting the overall well-being of pupils.
· Acting as a positive role model throughout the school, reflecting the school's 'We CARE' ethos.
· Maintaining and updating classroom and school displays and organising resources.
· Contributing to school-wide initiatives and upholding policies to promote excellent behaviour.
· Communicating and engaging with families and carers as needed to support pupil progress.
· Providing 1:1 support for individual pupils when necessary to aid their learning and development.
An enhanced DBS check and references/other checks will be required prior to employment.
