Full Job Description

The children, staff, and governors of Lordsgate Township CE Primary School would like to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated, and skilled Teaching Assistant (Level 2b). The successful candidate will be required to carry out a range of roles including supporting children with additional needs. The position is initially offered on a part time 15 hours, approximately two and a half days, specific days /hours to be discussed with successful candidate as their is some flexiblity. Lordsgate is a friendly, happy, and caring school family. The school has an excellent reputation in the community and we have very strong links with our church, St John the Baptist, Burscough. Our distinctive Christian ethos is a strength of the school. The successful candidate will need to have proven experience of working in a primary school classroom and the ability to support pupils with the Social and Emotional aspects of learning. You will be joining our team of dedicated and hardworking teaching assistants
who set high standards for the children and show care and consideration for their needs.

  • This contract will be on a variable hours basis in line with all other support staff contracts.
    Please note the salary quoted is full-time equivalent. If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.

  • NVQ level 2 in relevant child care qualification

  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics

    Experience of working in a Primary School Classroom

  • Experience of meeting the needs of children with special educational needs and speech, language and communication issues

  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom environment including EYFS/KS1

  • Experience of supporting children with their social and emotional needs

  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviours
