Full Job Description
Are you looking for a role where every day is unique, challenging, and rewarding? A job that gives you a sense of achievement knowing you've made a difference to young people? If so, we'd love to hear from you!
Leigh Academy Milestone is seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our SEN team here and/or across our provisions at Wilmington Academy, Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy, Leigh Academy Dartford and Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard. This is a great opportunity for those with a genuine interest in supporting children with learning difficulties or for anyone considering a career in teaching.
You'll be involved in a variety of activities, from assisting with personal care and medical needs to supporting students in swimming, PE, and outdoor activities like Forest School. Full training and support will be provided, and you'll be part of a fantastic team.
This permanent role is 31.75 hours per week (term time + 1 week inset) with a salary of £18,012-£19,248 per annum. Please be aware that we can consider those seeking part-time opportunities, so please mention this on your application if this is of interest to you.
Applicants should have GCSEs in English and maths and experience working with young people. Enthusiasm, focus, and resilience are key! Join us and start your journey with a team that's committed to excellence.
Information about the school
Leigh Academy Milestone is a large special school for pupils with Profound, Severe and Complex needs, across five sites and is part of Leigh Academies Trust. We currently have 385 pupils on roll aged between the ages of 2 and 19. Leigh Academy Milestone has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted at our last three inspections.
We are a proud school serving students aged 3-19 with Special Educational Needs. Each day our students bring their own unique energy into their school. In turn we ensure that they receive a high quality educational provision delivered through the immensely capable and effective hands of our staff.
We recognise that adopting a personalised approach is a critical key for each student's development. Therefore we invest a significant amount of time assessing the student's needs - an assessment that ensures we respond in the most specific manner. This approach is repeated throughout their time with us.
