We have a great opportunity for a knowledgeable and efficient individual to join us in the role of Teaching Assistant at the Leigh Academy Minster. The overarching purpose of the role is to work with pupils who have learning difficulties usually with a statement of Special Educational Needs. This role will suit both experienced TAs who are looking to join our Academy, and also be suitable for Graduates looking to gain first-hand experience with a view to commencing Teacher Training with us in the future., We are privileged to welcome you to Leigh Academy Minster, an institution where innovation and excellence will combine with respect and integrity to ensure all young people who study with us go on to lead happy, successful lives. Our mission
Leigh Academy Minster's students will be the embodiment of 'The Minster Way' through a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and negative behaviours, ensuring a calm, purposeful learning environment that provides exceptional personal development opportunities.
The academy will provide all students with a high-quality academic education through the internationally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in Key Stage 3, as well as national academic and vocational qualifications in Key Stages 4 and 5.
Students will receive excellent pastoral care through Leigh Academies Trust's highly effective small school model, with a dedicated team of leaders and specialists supporting all aspects of a child's education at the academy. What are we looking for in you? It is preferable for applicants to have previous experience of working with young people but not essential. You will be educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy. You will have knowledge and understanding of the different, social, cultural and physical needs of young people. You will be committed to personal learning and development, and have a sincere commitment to sharing our long-term aims and drive for continuous improvement. This is a permanent opportunity working 35 hours per week, term time + 1 week inset and offers an actual salary of £19,855 per annum (£24,404 full-time equivalent).
