Full Job Description

University College School is an academically selective boys' independent school in the heart of Hampstead, North London. At the Junior Branch we are seeking to appoint a part time teaching assistant to join our dedicated team of teachers and support staff. The role will involve daily 1:1 support of an SEN pupil as well as working flexibly with class teachers across all Key Stage Two classes to enhance the learning of pupils. The successful candidate will need to develop a clear understanding of the specific needs of the SEN pupil whilst maintaining high standards of pastoral care in all their interactions with the boys. The role will also include wider duties such as supervising children at playtime and during lunch break, and helping to run extra-curricular clubs. Prior experience of working with SEN children and/or carrying out a similar TA position is preferable and the need for excellent communication and collaborative skills is essential. Essential qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or above.
  • Desirable experience
  • Experience of working with children who have additional needs.
  • Experience of supporting children within a primary or secondary school setting.
  • The ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children.
